Kids hate fruits and vegetables. It’s a struggle to get them to eat fruits

In a country filled with readily available processed and high-calorie foods, our eating habits have changed greatly – and so has kids’ liking of fruits and veggies. One of the factors playing a role in the rise of childhood obesity is the relative lack of fruits and veggies in diets. From 2007 to 2010, 9 out of 10 children – yes, you read that right, 9 in 10! – did not eat the optimal amounts of fruits and vegetables.

Fruit is naturally low in calories, high in fibre, and loaded with crucial vitamins and minerals for healthy growth and development.

Children don’t like fruits because you; the parents, don’t. Yes! You read right.

According to a new study in Appetite, Krisena Borenstein, a mother of two children aged three and four, has seen this type of role modelling work firsthand. While her kids loved berries, they wouldn’t try apples or pears. Watching their father crunch into apples eventually piqued their interest enough to want “what Daddy eats.”

When making the best fruit salad recipe for kids you probably think about just mixing all the fruit, like a salad, right? Well, not for kids!

Most kids have certain fruits they love, so when making fruit salad, you want to avoid mixing them together so he or she wouldn’t lose interest in his favourite as well.

You can use grapefruit juice or lemon to keep apples from browning.

Also, to make it simple, you can make fruit salad for your kids with his or her favourite fruits.

The best fruit salad for kids is one they like and more importantly they like it when they get to pick out what they like!
